What is Firefox Quantum?
Firefox Introduced the New Firefox with the biggest update and Modified core engine, It’s also called Firefox Quantum. Firefox Quantum is released by Mozilla on November 14, 2017. As per the Mozilla blog, more than 700 authors contributed code to Firefox Since the August 6th release. The main update of quantum is its completely build on an Overhauled core engine with brand new technology. Quantum browser, written using the Rust programming language, launched with a variety of new features, Its lightweight with a beautiful new look design. And also using the Photon design language, Mozilla’s developers can produce an intuitive browsing experience that displays more web content. Firefox Quantum uses Fast Multi-Process Browser: Before the Quantum update Firefox used Single Process, so the entire browser runs with the help of a single operating system. This is known as a single process. Mostly the JavaScript that ran the browser UI and the JavaScript that ran within web pages (also known as “content” or “web content”) were not separated. Currently, the latest versions of Firefox run the browser UI and the web content in separate processes. In the current iteration of this architecture, all browser tabs run within the same process and the browser UI runs in its own individual process. In future iterations of Firefox, there will be more than one process to exclusively handle web content. Also with Firefox quantum, you can control how many processes does the browser can use. By default, Quantum uses four Processes to view and render web content. Quantum browser uses 30 % Less Memory than chrome, and security-wise quantum offers Improved Privacy. The main update in security is Tracking protection. Quantum introduced the option to enable Tracking Protection while browsing normally. Before, Like the older version of firefox this option was only available in Private Browsing mode. Tracking Protection blocks online trackers from logging your browsing behavior and habits.
