Disable Click sound in On-Screen Keyboard in Windows 10

On-Screen Keyboard is a software-based keyboard that is available in most Operating Systems, In Windows, you can find On-Screen Keyboard from the Vista version. On-Screen Keyboard allows users to type text using a joystick or a pointing device. Instead of a hardware keyboard, you can use the OSK application to type all the keyboard letters and characters. Mostly on-screen keyboard is used by physically challenged users and it helps users to improve input options. This On-screen keyboard exactly resembles the Physical keyboard virtually, it includes all letters, numbers, symbols, and system keys, like Home, End, Insert, Page Up, Page Down, Ctrl, Alt, Caps, and Shift.  By default, On-Screen Keyboard produces a click sound while pressing keys. Most of the users feel annoyed by this sound. This article will guide you to Disable Click sound in On-Screen Keyboard in Windows 10.

Disable Click sound in On-Screen Keyboard:

In Windows 10 you can enable or disable the keyboard typing sound or Click sound in On-Screen Keyboard using two different methods.

Using Windows Settings:

Open On-Screen Keyboard, type On-Screen Keyboard in the Windows search, and Click on it.

Once you launch the On-Screen Keyboard, click on the Options key.

Now you will get keyboard options as a separate popup. Uncheck the Use Click Sound.

This will disable the keypad sound in the On-Screen Keyboard. Click on Ok to confirm the changes.

Using Registry Editor:

Note: Modifying the Registry is risky, and it causes irreversible damage to your OS Installation Follow the steps correctly. Friendly advice Before Modifying Registry Creating Restore Point is recommended.

Open Run command by pressing Windows + R and type Regedit and hit enter. This command will open Registry Editor.

Now Navigate to the following path.

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\TabletTip\1.7

From the left-hand side click on the 1.7 Registry key and from the right-hand side, right click on an empty area and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it as EnableKeyAudioFeedback. And click on OK.

Double click on the EnableKeyAudioFeedback DWORD and modify the value data as mentioned below.

0 = Turn Off

1 = Turn On

Using Registry Editor

Click on Ok and close the registry editor.
