User Account Profile Picture is one of the features that allow users to add change and delete an account picture in Windows 10. The user profile picture is generally defined as an avatar of accounts, and comments, mostly these profile pictures are used in social media. Most of the users add a profile picture to their social media accounts. Microsoft includes this feature long back, but this feature got popular in Windows 10. Whenever you log in to Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC, you’ll see a User Account sign-in Profile Picture in the Login screen. By default, Windows will assign the default user avatar for every user account profile, Once the user profile is created, automatically the windows will assign the default user avatar as an account picture. If you are having a lot of profiles in your system or if you want to change the default user logon picture for multiple computers, then it’s a tiring process. Windows will allow users to set their own profile picture, but if you are running a company and want to set the company logo as a default logon picture then this article will guide you to Apply default User Account Picture to All Users in Windows 11/10.

Apply default User Account Picture to All Users:
First, if you want to set or change the default user account picture in Windows 11, then follow the below-mentioned steps.
Change the Default User Account Picture:
To change the Profile Picture in Windows 11, open Windows Settings by pressing Windows + I and click on Accounts.
Under Accounts click on Your info and Under Adjust your photo, there will be two options available, you can either Take a photo or you can Choose a file.
Select any option to set or change the default account picture.
Where the User Account Picture will be Stored in Windows 11?
In Windows 11, the default user account picture will be stored at the following location.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures
The ProgramData folder will be hidden, change the folder option to show all the hidden files.
Apply default User Account Picture to All Users:
First, you need to choose any image, for example, if you want to set the company profile picture then choose the image and resize it to the following sizes. And rename the pictures as shown below.
448 x 448px (user.png)
192 x 192px (user-192.png)
48 x 48px (user-48.png)
40 x 40px (user-40.png)
32 x 32px (user-32.png)
Use MS Paint to resize your image to the above-mentioned dimensions.
Next, navigate to the following path, where the User Account Picture will be Stored.
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\User Account Pictures
Now you can see the default user account picture in different dimensions, now you need to rename those files as mentioned below.
User.png – User.png.bak
user-192.png – user-192.png.bak
user-48.png – user-48.png.bak
user-40.png – user-40.png.bak
user-32.png – user-32.png.bak
once you rename those files from the folder, then copy & paste the image that you resized & renamed into the above-mentioned directory.
Next restart the PC once to make it effective.
Using Registry Editor:
Note: Modifying the Registry is risky, and it causes irreversible damage to your OS Installation Follow the steps correctly. Friendly advice Before Modifying Registry Creating Restore Point is recommended.
Open Run command by Pressing Windows + R and type regedit and hit enter, this command will open the Registry Editor Console.
Now navigate to the following path.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
From the left-hand side right click on the Explorer registry key and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value, and name it as UseDefaultTile.
Next Double click on the UseDefaultTile and set the value as 1, click on Ok and Close the Registry Editor.
Restart the system to make it effective. This will apply the default user account picture to all the user profiles.
Using Group Policy Editor:
Open Run command by pressing Windows + R and type gpedit.msc and hit enter, this command will open the Group Policy Editor.
Now navigate to the following path
Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > User Accounts
From the Left hand side click on the User Accounts and from the Right hand side look for the policy name Apply the default account picture to all users.
Double click on the policy and choose Enabled. Click on Apply and Ok.
Note: The default account picture is stored at %PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\user.jpg. The default guest picture is stored at %PROGRAMDATA%\Microsoft\User Account Pictures\guest.jpg. If the default pictures do not exist, an empty frame is displayed.
Once you enable this policy setting, the default user account picture will display for all users on the system with no customization allowed.
